Description    
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), in conjunction with U.S. EPA Region 3, will host a series of county-level emergency preparedness trainings for the water sector. The training and tabletop exercise will bring together local drinking water and wastewater service providers and other emergency responders to provide response training, enhance coordination and communication between all responders, improve understanding of emergency roles and responsibilities, and allow participants to discuss steps to be taken now to better prepare for a future water sector-specific incident.

Course Content    
* First half of the day will consist of ICS and NIMS refresher training
* Participants will review the key elements of the ICS and the five components of the NIMS
* Second half of the day will consist of a facilitated tabletop exercise
* Participants will:
*discuss plans, policies and procedures
*evaluate the systems needed to guide the prevention of, response to and recovery from an incident
*discuss the roles, responsibilities, and capabilities of local, county and State response partners
